I haven't watched the 2nd Boondock Saints yet...but reading about the character Rocco who loses his finger and later dies in part 1....It says he comes back in a DREAM sequence for the 2nd film...
His name being Rocco has me thinking that it has to be connected to Rocky Colavito...His real name is also Rocco....I've blogged about him a ton and recall that he turned 86 years old just before 2019 Tisha B'Av....Plus Cleveland is now the Guardians reminding us of Guardian Angels.
